Justin & quyen (Yosemite Proposal)

The Valley Comes Alive This Time Of Year.

Justin had one job that day, and Quyen had no idea what was coming.

Photographing a proposal is one of the quieter privileges of my work. There's usually no timeline, no coordinated entrance, and no program. Just a person who has been carrying something in their pocket, waiting for the right moment. And then, the moment arrives and everything changes.

Yosemite has a way of making moments like that feel even more certain. In all my time traveling to Yosemite, the Sierra Nevada range, and the surrounding area, the scale of these areas somehow makes the most intimate of moments feel bigger, not smaller. When Justin asked, and Quyen said yes, the valley felt like it was in on the secret the entire time.

What followed was simple. We explored parts of the Valley floor together with their friends, still buzzing, wandering through one of the most beautiful places on earth as newly engaged people. That's the part I love getting to document.

Planning to propose in Yosemite? I can be there. Let's talk through the details.

Phil did an absolutely incredible job capturing our engagement in Yosemite. We couldn’t be happier! His communication was super fast and responsive, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. He truly goes above and beyond to tailor the experience and helps you stay present in the moment. He’s extremely personable and made my fiancee and me feel totally comfortable and natural during the shoot. His knowledge of Yosemite really elevated the experience, and we are beyond in love with how our photos turned out.
