Nina & Ivan (Yosemite Engagement)
A Dream Yosemite Engagement
Those near to me know that Yosemite is my second home. So you should have seen my face light up when Nina and Ivan asked if I would shoot their engagement in Yosemite National Park.
You can ask anyone, there are no bad frames here. What I loved about this session was that Nina and Ivan weren't just interested in just good frames; you could get that anywhere. They wanted to actually be there, to move through it, feel it, let the place get into the photographs the way it gets into you. So, we spent the weekend doing exactly that.
We spent afternoons in the valley floor, open meadows, and even the roads leading in, which most people only see through a windshield. And then, before the rest of the park woke up, a sunrise at Glacier Point that made everything else feel like a warm-up.
Glacier Point at dawn is one of those experiences that's hard to explain without sounding like you're exaggerating. The panoramic view of the Sierras, Half Dome looming in the distance, the quiet, the way the light comes up slowly and then all at once. All of it rewards the early alarm.
Nina and Ivan were easy to work, not only because they were my dear friends but because they also loved being present there. They were just together, in one of the most extraordinary places on earth, and my job was to keep up.
Dreaming of a Yosemite engagement session? I'd love to help you plan it. Let's talk.
